Suvendu-Vaishnaw announce bullet train from Delhi to Siliguri in under 6 hours
A tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning at the Khallari Mata Temple in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh when a ropeway trolley carrying devotees suddenly crashed after its cable snapped. The incident took place during the Navratri festival, when a large number of pilgrims had gathered at the temple for darshan.
According to reports, the accident happened around 10:00 AM when devotees were descending the hill after visiting the shrine. The ropeway trolley, which was packed with passengers, reportedly suffered a sudden failure after the main supporting cable snapped abruptly. The trolley then lost control and plunged from a significant height before crashing onto the ground. A 28-year-old woman from Raipur died on the spot in the accident, while at least 16 other people sustained injuries. The injured devotees were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment as rescue efforts began at the site.
Initial reports suggest that the accident may have occurred due to overloading of the ropeway trolley or a possible technical malfunction in the system. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident as safety concerns surrounding the ropeway operation come under scrutiny.
